Showcasing our full IVD portfolio at Oceania’s leading laboratory medicine event

PROTIA, a company specializing in in vitro diagnostic (IVD) medical devices, took part in AACB 2026, held in Melbourne, Australia, from September 15 to 17. There we introduced our flagship products to the Oceania market.

Now in its 63rd year, AACB (Australasian Association for Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine) is a combined scientific conference and exhibition, and the longest-running and most respected laboratory medicine event in Oceania.
This year more than 40 global diagnostics companies exhibited, including Thermo Fisher, Abbott, Siemens, Bio-Rad, Roche and Beckman Coulter.
Clinical professionals and industry representatives came from Australia and New Zealand, as well as India, Southeast Asia (including Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam) and Taiwan. That made the event a good vantage point on where diagnostics in the Asia-Pacific region is heading.

PROTIA’s IVD Solutions on Display

The exhibition floor was dominated by clinical chemistry systems, and PROTIA was the only exhibitor presenting allergy diagnostics. At one booth we showed our full IVD portfolio, covering allergy, food intolerance, autoimmunity, antimicrobial susceptibility and immune status.

✔ Allergy-Q 128 / 192D

  • A multiplex allergy test kit that quantitatively measures allergen-specific IgE in serum, for many allergens at once
  • Our flagship product, recognized for its accuracy and cost-efficiency and built on PROTIA’s patented parallel-line multiplex technology

✔ PROTIA Food IgG 96, 128

  • A delayed food intolerance test that quantitatively measures IgG specific to about 120 foods in serum

✔ PROTIA ANA Profile 18

  • An autoimmune disease panel that detects 18 autoantigens on a single strip

✔ PROTIA Q-AST

  • A rapid antimicrobial susceptibility testing system that uses capacitance analysis to give susceptibility results for 40 antibiotics in 4 hours

✔ IMSAFE Saliva

  • A non-invasive immune check that measures IgA levels in saliva

The Potential of Multiplex Diagnostics, Seen on Site

Allergy diagnosis in Australia still relies mainly on skin testing, and blood-based multiplex testing is not yet widely used.
Hospital and clinic representatives who visited our booth showed strong interest in identifying many allergens with a single test, and many clinicians told us it was the first time they had seen this kind of product.
Visitors also asked how the test could fit into their current clinical practice and how it could be supplied locally.

PROTIA’s Growing Global Presence

Known for accuracy and testing efficiency, the PROTIA Allergy-Q series is exported to more than 75 countries through over 85 international distributors.
After Europe, the Middle East and Africa, we plan to use AACB as a springboard into Oceania and the wider Asia-Pacific region.

PROTIA, Reaching Further

AACB 2026 let us see firsthand the demand for multiplex allergy diagnostics in Oceania.
We will prepare to enter the Oceania market by securing local regulatory approval and finding distribution partners. We will also keep delivering accurate, efficient IVD solutions for more countries and healthcare settings.
