[SEOUL = NewsPim] Reporter Lee Na-young — PROTIA announced on the 26th through a preliminary earnings disclosure that it recorded revenue of KRW 15.1 billion and operating profit of KRW 3.7 billion in 2025. These figures represent year-on-year increases of 43.8% and 148.9%, respectively, marking the company’s highest performance since its establishment.

According to the company, the main driver of the improved performance was the solid growth of its core allergy diagnostics business. Sales of human allergy diagnostic products increased significantly in both domestic and overseas markets, while sales of diagnostic instruments rose by more than 80% year on year, driving overall revenue growth.

In particular, the company expects the sharp increase in domestic and overseas sales of diagnostic instruments to further expand sales of diagnostic kits. In overseas markets, exports increased primarily in Russia, Malaysia, Vietnam, India, and the Middle East, while the company expanded its distributor network in South America and Africa.

The company said that the number of countries to which it exported reached 80 last year, while the number of overseas distributors exceeded 90. In particular, the contract with a Canadian agent is significant in that it secured a foothold for entry into the North American market. The company also said that it significantly expanded its global export channels by securing multiple agents in Africa and South America, regions where market entry had previously been slow.

Sales of the company’s diagnostic instruments also increased significantly last year. Because the instruments are specialized for PROTIA’s diagnostic reagent tests, increased instrument sales lead directly to subsequent diagnostic reagent sales, laying the foundation for a substantial increase in revenue this year.

“The expansion of sales of diagnostic instruments, along with allergy diagnostic products, contributed significantly to the improvement in performance and is expected to drive future revenue growth,” said Lim Kuk-jin, CEO of PROTIA. “By continuously developing and supplying new products and entering new markets, we expect to continue improving profitability as well as expanding the scale of our business.”

Meanwhile, in the first half of last year, PROTIA obtained regulatory approval for PROTIA Allergy-Q 192D, a premium product capable of simultaneously testing for 176 allergens, including drug and chemical allergens. The product was introduced to the market in July last year and received a strong response in Korea. In addition, the company exported and launched in Europe an antimicrobial susceptibility testing product incorporating the world’s first capacitance measurement method and is currently discussing additional full-scale export agreements.
